About Us

A visionary pharmacist, Andre Bouclet was always passionate about the regenerating power of the sea. In 1964, he created Thalgo (a combination of “Thalassotherapy” and “Algae”), the first laboratory specialising in skincare products based on algae and marine extracts, intended for the medical world and thalassotherapy centres. In 1966, he developed a unique algae micronisation method that ruptures the algae cell walls to release their contents, while preserving their wealth of active ingredients. The same year, he filed a medical patent for the combination of three micronised algae (Laminaria Digitata ? Fucus Vesiculosus ? Lithothamnium calcareum), prescribed for skin, rheumatic and circulatory disorders.
